How do you join band?

Who is allowed to join?
MIT students, faculty, and staff members, as well as alumni and community members from Cambridge, Boston and beyond! Generally speaking: if you can play an instrument, you can join!
Do we need to audition?
No! Our band is open to everyone – the only requisite is love for the music and willingness to have fun.
What instruments do you take?
Almost any wind and percussion instrument. However, if you play something more unconventional, such as piano or guitar, don’t be shy to reach out to us, and we’ll work to find something for you!
I’m a beginner, can I still join?
Yes! Band is open to musicians of all levels.
I don’t have my instrument, can I borrow one?
Yes! Between us and marching band, we have a modest number of instruments that you can borrow, at least until you can get your own!
